Warning: African Theives Trying to Get You To Steal Products
Filed under: news

Imagine if you woke up this morning, UPS dropped an Xbox 360 off at your doorstep.
You didn't pay for the product, but you received it in the mail anyway. The total cost, USD $490.00 - and with it you receive a large quantity of stamps and a message that reads "Please ship this to Africa."
Would you do it?
Thankfully, this happened to one woman in the United States. She called TechDiversions this morning. Why? Because we were victim of a credit card frauder a few weeks ago and lost a precious item to these scam artists.
The credit card went under the radar undetected and the item was shipped. We figured it lost - a big hit for a small company. But, one thing fraud artists must understand: A small company pays very close attention to detail on shipping records and our customer history.
We keep customers up-to-date on their product, we want to make sure all went well and that they're enjoying the product. When the fraud monger returns to attempt to buy another $5,000 in goods - we see it coming.
This women called us and told us her story, how she was told to ship an Xbox 360 she didn't pay for to Africa. This good person let us know it sounded sketchy and is returning the product to TechDiversions utilizing all the stamps she received for free.
Would you do the same? We'd like to know. It is great to know there are a few people in this world of kind heart and good judgment.
Side note: This women has also received three items from other companies and was told to ship it to Africa. She's trying to contact these companies now.
[update] The lady called the FBI and they simply said "just keep the stuff"

PS: To those credit card fraud folks: We see the, literally, hundred of credit card transactions (daily) you are utilizing on our site and we're not shipping you anything so please stop already.
