Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Preview
So what exactly is Super Smash Bros. Brawl? It's an upcoming Wii game that's going to be a huge smash hit!
It's based on the original Smash Bros. games for the GameCube which were hit titles. Picture Mortal Kombat with less blood and more cartoon characters based on Nintendo mascots. Sound dumb? Yeah, it does, but there is nothing at all dumb about it!
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl you'll be able to battle up to four-players at a time in pretty environments with your favorite super stars. Perhaps you're a Mario fan? a Zelda fan? Kid Icarus? Heck! Pokemon!?
You can play a wide variety of participants and go up against your friends for a wild battle of destruction with only one person coming out the victor (or one team).

A bit of trivia, unlike other Smash Bros games this title will contain one character from a non-first-party title: Solid Snake from Metal Gear. The characters are sharper than ever, clean and glass smooth.
What characters have we seen thus far?
- Mario
- Pikachu (one of my favorites to play in Super Smash Bros. Melee)
- Kirby
- Link (legend of zelda)
- Fox McCloud (starfox)
- Samus Aran (metroid)
- Meta Knight (Kirby games)
- Pit (Kid Icarus)
- Wario
- Solid Snake
And many more. The stages are broader than ever as well, with areas typical to some of the game franchises of the past. A stage themed after Kid Icarus, Yoshi's Island, Star Fox, Mario Kart and more.

Is this a button masher battle game? If you want it to be, but there are techniques you can use that are fun to execute but not nearly as complex as that of a Mortal Kombat or Dead or Alive title.
New information was released which talks about the "Final Smash," a unique attack that can only be performed once in a battle and is very deadly. We've yet to hear much about them but will keep looking out for more information.
Smashbros.com talks about the Final Smash saying...
The Final Smash is a secret skill that can be performed but once…and only after obtaining an item called the Smash Ball, which is a precious item, indeed.
The basic gist of it? I suppose you could say it’s kind of like a powerful and personalized hammer. (Or maybe not…)
You can look forward to experiencing the glowing personality behind each of the many Final Smashes!

As for special items, so far we've seen the "Gooey Ball," it's a weapon that you toss and stick on your opponent. The concept is awesome, you toss the goo encased bomb at your opponent and it sticks to them or around them if you miss. The problem? They can bump into you and there is a chance it will transfer back to you - after all, it's gooey!
The title, rumored for a September release, will change the Super Smash Bros. titles for the better. Super Smash Bros Brawl looks like a very polished release with many new features. However, we've only begun to see what some of them will be. Hopefully, at E3, we'll know more!!
